Honors and Illnesses:
- The Litterer family's Storybook Honey won first prize for white honey at the Iowa State Fair, and Leah's honey and pottery got blue ribbons in the 4-H judging at the State Fair.
- Congratulations to Chris Garden and L&J Industries on their nomination for the Innovation Award at the upcoming Pappajohn Entrepreneur Awards and Gala. Other local businesses up for awards include: Otto's Oasis; Megumi Abbott, Churasan; and Mike Molstead Motors.
Announcements:
- Party in the Park Popcorn - Aiming for 3rd time is a charm! There will be a Party in the Park this Friday, August 21. We now have enough volunteers, but come and enjoy the event!
- Elks Parking Lot Resurfacing - The next couple of weeks, be prepared to park in the gravel side of the parking lot as the Elks are having work done to the parking lot.
- Family Picnic - Save the Date for September 28. Details coming soon!
- Please be sure to sign up by noon on Fridays! We are excited to be in a season with lots of guests joining us. Please be sure to add yourself and any guests (other than the program). We need an accurate count so we have enough meals for our members and guests. Not sure if you will make it? It is better to put your name on the list by noon Friday and take it off later if needed. The weekly menus are also shown on the sheet.

Program: This week's program was presented by Floyd County Extension and Outreach Director Kailey Einspahr. She provided an overview of the ISU Extension and Outreach programs and services in Iowa and Floyd County. Their program areas include: ag and natural resources, community and economic development, health and human sciences, and 4-H and Youth Development. The local Extension team has a vast number of resources and program offerings. Watch their social media and website for the latest news.
