John Ebert is a great grandfather! John's grandson Tanner and wife Mackenzie welcomed a baby boy, Walter Richard Heitz.
Sam Soifer Community Service Award is awarded to the citizen who has contributed "Over and Beyond the Call of Duty" in their community life. The 2024-25 award is presented to Dean Andrews in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding service to the community of Charles City, Iowa.
Leo Lidd Vocational Service Award is awarded to the citizen whose business life best exemplifies the Rotary Four-Way Test. The 2024-25 award is presented to Cort and Lainey Sanvig with appreciation for the exceptional and outstanding work he has done in his field and for the community of Charles City, Iowa.
The Paul Garthwaite Memorial Award (Rotarian of the Year) is awarded to the member who has shown overall dedication and outstanding service to the Club and Rotary throughout the year. President Jessie presented this year's award to Jim Davis.

Each year, the Charles City Rotary Club awards $1,000 scholarships for outstanding high school graduating seniors based on their scholastic, extracurricular and community activities and achievements. This year the scholarships have been named in memory of long-time Rotarian and our club’s first scholarship recipient, Bill Frye. The 2024-25 Bill Frye Scholarship recipients are: Xander Graiser and Payton Hadley.
Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute or have contributions made in their name of $1,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation. Each additional $1,000 contribution earns the individual the next level of regonition. Our club welcomed Jim Davis as new Paul Harris Fellow and honorer Dennis Donovan who earned his next level of Paul Harris Honors to Paul Harris Plus 4.

Car Show Volunteers - Lots of volunteers are needed to help prep, staff and cleanup. If you aren’t able to help the day of the event, there are other jobs that can be done the week before and day before the event. Please sign up for at least one opportunity to help make this event a success!!

Playground Bench and Table Assembly - Watch your email for details on assembling the tables and benches for the new shelter next to the new playground at Sportmans Park.
MEAL SIGN UP - Please be sure to sign up by noon on Fridays! Reminder to add meals for guests (other than the program). We need to give an accurate count to Dave's so we have enough meals for our members and guests. Not sure if you will make it? It is better to put your name on the list by noon Friday and take it off later if needed. The weekly menus are also shown on the sheet.
Remember we will start the Zoom meeting about 12:20pm to allow time for everyone to eat.

Program: This week's program was presented by Stu Coulson on the the Red Cross. Stu is part of the Red Cross mental health team along with other services that are deployed to disasters large and small. He provided some history and an overview of the many types of services provided through the Red Cross all around the world.
