- A thank you card was received from the Fair Board for our support of the new horse barn. Construction is now underway to be ready for fair in July.
Announcements:
- Parking Lot Clean Up: Friday, May 15 at 5:15pm - It's once again time to help with downtown parking lot cleanup! As part of the spring communitywide day of services, we will clean the parking lot at the Community Center (fka the Senior Center) Friday, May 15 at 5:15pm. Bring brooms and scoop shovels or leaf blowers if you have them. It shouldn’t take long! Signup here so we have a headcount:

If you are available at 4:30pm, Main Street Charles City will be cleaning up in Central Park as part of the community-wide day of service.
- Party in the Park Popcorn - Once again this year, volunteers are needed to sell popcorn at Party in the Park events! Shifts are 5-7pm or 7-9pm. Grab a friend and come enjoy the night at Party in the Park!

- Youth Exchange Update - District leadership are working on matching inbound students for next year. We should have more information soon.
- RYLA Applications Available - If you know a high school student who would benefit from attending RYLA, send them to District5970.org to find program details and fill out an application for the summer of 2026 RYLA event!

We need an accurate count so we have enough meals for our members and guests. Not sure if you will make it? It is better to put your name on the list by noon Friday and take it off later if needed. Program: This week’s program was presented by NIACC President Joel Pedersen with updates on programs, facilities, and awards. NIACC is honored to be a semifinalist for the national Aspen Award for community college excellence. Other updates included: programming at the Charles City Career Center, the upcoming opening for the Hampton Career Center, enrollment statistics, future facilities study, and highlights of new programming and classes.
