Involvement with the Rotary Foundation, a multi-million dollar investment of
Rotary International, provides an opportunity for the local club to participate in
the development of international understanding and good will with many nations
of the world. Each year the local club hosts a Group Study Exchange team
(young business and professional leaders) from a foreign country, or is provided
an opportunity to a local candidate for a District 597 team to spend 5-6 weeks
in a foreign country. The Group Study Exchange is a Rotary International project
funded with Rotary Foundation assets. Each year, the District is eligible to
nominate 1 to 2 candidates to the International club to be evaluated for eligibility
to participate.
Charles City has been fortunate to have several of its citizens selected to participate.
